What We Believe
We ascribe to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Click here for more details.
We believe there are two ordinances the local church is called to administer: the Lord’s Supper and the baptism of believers.
What to Expect
A group of people seeking to glorify God through our fellowship together under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We gather each Sunday to study the Bible, pray together, and worship God through singing songs based upon Biblical truth and through preaching rooted in the exegesis and exposition of Scripture. We celebrate communion once per month. Dress is anywhere from casual to sports coats.
We also gather on Wednesday nights for bible study and prayer. Once per month we seek to have an evangelism focus, where we go out together to share the Gospel in our community.
Our Mission
To glorify God by making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ who radiate for His glory before a watching world.
Our Distinctives
The Centrality of Scripture. The Bible is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. The inerrant Word of God is sufficient for all of life and godliness.
Expository Preaching. As a general practice, we preach through books of the Bible in an expository manner.
Prayer. We are a people who strive to seek God fervently in prayer personally and corporately.
Multi-generational Ministry. We believe the church is meant to learn and grow with one another including older and younger together. We value worshipping together with all ages.
Fellowship. Loving one another by spending time together, sharing meals and caring for one another’s needs.
Evangelism. We strongly believe in and seek to practice proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our community and beyond.
Sunday Worship. We highly value the Lord’s Day as a weekly blessing for worship, fellowship and rest.

Our Story
On June 15, 1980 Calvary Baptist held its first service at East Side Elementary. There were 29 in attendance that day including our first pastor, Steve Melvin. Three years later, we built the first portion of our church building. It took only 3 short years (May 22, 1983) before the ‘ground breaking’ service for the first portion of the church building would happen.
One year later, the church would become an integral part of helping to fulfill the Great Commission by assisting in the start of a mission congregation in Sunburg, MN. Over the next 10 years, Calvary Baptist continued to spread the Gospel and further their outreach by helping start Redwood Falls Chapel (Redwood Falls, MN), assisting in the start of the Western Baptist Association and helping to start Kandi Baptist Fellowship in Willmar, MN.
By 1996, the rate of growth for Calvary Baptist exceeded current building limits and the church took on the task of building an addition. On May 18, 1997 the new portion of the building was dedicated.
In 2010, our congregation voted to change our name to Radiant Life Church. The landscape of Marshall, MN has changed since the church’s founding in 1980. Yet, the Radiant Life church family remains a loving and committed group dedicated to the advancement of God’s kingdom, and rooted in the wonderful hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We look forward with eager anticipation to what God has for us in the coming years as we seek Him wholeheartedly together!
